Initial situation
The ‘Domschatz Minden’ museum was looking for a modern solution to give visitors more comprehensive and personalised access to the exhibits. By integrating AR and AI with the IMS products AR-Explorer and JAIMS, this has now been achieved in an impressive way.
The challenge
Creating an interactive museum experience
Clearer and more personalised explanations of the exhibits
Enrichment of the visit with additional digital content
Multilingual preparation of information
Flexible adaptability to changes in the exhibition

Solution: AR-Explorer Museum
Core Features
- Classic museum catalog with a clear, illustrated exhibit list
- Innovative AR mode for contextual visual exhibit identification

Augmented Reality integration
The AR mode enables:
Real-time identification of exhibits in the camera image by displaying the exhibit name in the visitor's field of vision
Direct access to detailed information by tapping
Extended and overlaid digital information at the exhibit

Content enhancement through augmented reality
Special AR content is offered for selected exhibits. A particular highlight is the 3D reconstruction of the burnt Madonna in its original state before 1945. Furthermore, details about the Minden Cross are explained in AR mode and an original window frame of the cathedral is historically supplemented.

AI Museum Assistant JAIMS
The integrated AI agent JAIMS has been trained with extended information beyond the descriptive texts. It answers specific questions about exhibits, can recommend exhibits and explain the content in an easily understandable way. In doing so, it always pays attention to the thematic focus on the cathedral treasure.
Usability
Bilingualism (German/English) with flexible switching option
Customisable design (light/dark mode)

Content management
Centralised, intuitive backend for content management
3D building plan for precise AR positioning
Interfaces for integrating content from third-party systems
Easy updating without app updates

Benefit
